October is arguably the raddest month of the year, if only for one reason: it ends with a day fully dedicated to dressing up like something ridiculous, stuffing your face with sweets, scaring the crap out of your friends, laughing at morbid things, and getting toasty with some type of pumpkin-flavored beverage. Grab your masks, your fake blood, your tricks and treats, and head out to these awesome October food events!

Taste of Atlanta: October 5th-7th — Atlanta, Georgia

Featuring over 80 of Atlanta’s most amazing restaurants, three live cooking stages, workshops, a VIP experience and a family-oriented food zone, this Georgia festival brings everything to the table, from Mediterranean to Mexican, Japanese to traditional American. Beats for Boobs: October 13th — Seattle, Washington

Seattle’s third annual Beats for Boobs fest brings combines art, food, fashion, music and more to bring breast cancer awareness to the community and give attendees a look of what awesome local vendors have to offer. This year’s host venue is the infamous Crocodile, located in the historic Belltown neighborhood, an area known for its exciting nightlife. Tickets are $30.00 online and $60.00 at the door. Proceeds will benefit two charitable organizations: the Young Survival Coalition, and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. And, even if you can’t go, you can still donate!

Kohler Food & Wine Experience: October 18th-21st — Kohler, Wisconsin

Ultimate relaxation often comes from some serious pampering; get comfortable with a lovely selection of beer and wine, delectable dishes, and an array of seminars from renowned chefs and experts at this year’s Kohler Food & Wine Experience! The Food Event 2012: October 21st — Los Angeles, California

While The Food Event may boast all of the standard festival goods– wine and spirit tastings, celebrity chefs, delicious food, demos and experts — this event features unlimited consumables. Harvest on the Harbor: October 24th-27th — Portland, Maine

Portland, Maine, has some of the freshest seafood in the country (probably part of why they named it Portland). Enjoy it all and then some at this year’s Harvest on the Harbor, a purely east-coast festival that brings the community together year after year. Tuscon Culinary Festival World Margarita Championship: October 26th, 2012 — Tucson, Arizona

Relax in the courtyard of Tuscon’s gorgeous Museum of Art while tasting tons of innovative margarita recipes and sampling yummy cuisine at this southwestern food fest. There’s nothing quite like margaritas and munchies! Tickets are $45.00 per person, or $40.50 per person in groups of 10 or more.

Dia de los Muertos Festival: October 27th — Phoenix, Arizona

Let’s face it — Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead if you please, is just freakin’ cool. The makeup, the traditional dances and ceremonies, the art, the food, the mere idea of saying hey, ghosts, how goes it? Awesome. If you’re in Phoenix this October 27th, you won’t want to miss out on their annual celebration of this morbidly miraculous holiday. Even better? Admission is totally free!

Rock N Freak Bash: October 27th — San Antonio, Texas

Hosted by the Discovery Channel’s Ghost Lab crew, this frightening food and music fest is basically a gigantic Halloween party with the expectation that you party like a %$#@ing rock star. Not a bad idea, Texas. Tickets are $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door.

Halloween Party at Belcourt Castle: October 27th-28th — Newport, Rhode Island

There are few places more awesome to host a Halloween bash at than a genuine castle! This year’s Belcourt Castle Halloween Party features Halloween-themed food, music, drinks, decor, and of course, a costume contest! Put all of that inside a super spooky venue (known for its ghostly inhabitants, mind you), and you’ve got yourself one hell of an All Hallow’s Eve. Tickets are $100.00 per person.

Artoberfest: October 27th — Mendocino, California

The Ukiah Valley Artists Co-Op’s Artoberfest will feature delicious sausages, a silent auction, live music and a special raffle of one of Jim Colling’s gorgeous paintings. Admission is free, lunch costs $5.00, and proceeds from ticket sales and auction items will benefit the Ukiah Senior Center.
